Mary Jo joined Winther, Stave & Co., LLP in 1985 and passed the CPA exam in 1999. Mary Jo brings to the firm her ability to listen to clients’ needs. She enjoys helping clients set up accounting systems, consulting for their businesses, QuickBooks, preparing payroll returns, and income tax services for individuals and businesses.
Mary Jo and her husband Brett farm in the rural Dickens area. As a lifetime resident of Clay County and actively involved in the agriculture industry, Mary Jo has the unique ability to share her knowledge and experience with our agriculture clients. Youth activities have been a special interest to Mary Jo having been active as a 4-H leader, area school board member, and past board member of Northwest Iowa Soccer Club. She is currently Treasurer of the Clay County Heritage Center. Mary Jo and her husband Brett have two adult children, Madella and Andrew. In her spare time, she enjoys helping on the farm, reading, and traveling. In the spring and fall, you may find her in a tractor or combine helping Brett with their farming operation. Mary Jo is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants, and is a QuickBooks Pro-Advisor.
